Guitar Lessons – Post COVID?

Monday, August 9th, 2021

It’s already August 2021. It seems so long ago that the world shut down because of COVID-19.

My lessons went from in-person to online-only in an instant. It was a little strange adapting but everything worked out well.

Now we are in that strange time that we call “post-COVID”. But is it really correct to say “post”?

I know there is a lot of controversy surrounding COVID-19 but I choose not to get caught up in the fray of it all.  Everybody has to do what they think is right for their own health and the health of their families and who am I to dictate what that should be? Some people have been vaccinated and others haven’t. Some states are starting to shut things down and/or mask up again and others aren’t.

So what’s a guitar teacher supposed to do?  In all honesty, I’m not quite sure.

Here in the Ypsilanti and Ann Arbor area, all things that I am aware of are operating like normal.

Since the Delta variant seems to be on the rise, some places are suggesting that people (vaccinated or not) mask up. But the choice is yours.

I’ve been considering opening up my home studio for in-person lessons again. My wife and I are fully vaccinated and we have no issues going to public places and enjoying ourselves.

But is this the right time to open our home up to strangers?

What are your thoughts?

Are you considering guitar lessons in Ypsilanti or Ann Arbor?

Are you undecided if now is the right time to take guitar lessons in person again?

I would love to hear your thoughts.
