Looking for guitar lessons in Ypsilanti?

Looking for someone to teach you guitar is not like going to the store and buying a CD. The same CD can be found in different stores in different locations and most of the time, you would decide to purchase the CD at the store that has the cheapest price or the most convenient location….. Or both!

Many people think guitar lessons are the same no matter where they go. They think they should look for guitar lessons that have the lowest price or the closest location. This could not be farther from the truth!

I am 100% certain that you have had more than one teacher in school or college that taught the same subject, such as math. I am also certain that you would not say that all of these teachers were equal in there ability to teach you.

Why would you expect guitar teacher’s to be any different?

One thing is true no matter which guitar teacher you go to for guitar lessons in Ypsilanti: Your time and money should be invested on the teacher that is going to get you the results you desire in the most efficient way possible. If you spend your money and time on guitar lessons that do not yield results and are not fun, what have you gained?

Don’t make the mistake of assuming that guitar lessons are like cookies and that any cookie cutter guitar lessons will teach you how to play guitar.

Invest your time and money into a guitar teacher that is going to listen to what your goals are and create a plan for you to help get you to the results you desire.

When I first bought my guitar, I had lofty aspirations of playing my favorite songs within months of my purchase. I bought a “Teach Yourself Guitar” book and CD, I think I made it 1 month before I got frustrated with my lack of progress and the guitar began collecting dust for the next 7 years. After threatening to add the guitar to the next garage sale, I got the ultimatum from my wife to either take lessons or it was gone.
For my birthday this past February, she got me an introductory lesson from Jeff.

Jeff is great at working with beginning guitar players, especially ones with little musical background like me. During the first few lessons, Jeff tailors your future lesson plans specifically to your goals and when you want to reach them, and how much practice time you can put in. As a professional with a demanding full-time job and a father of two, I can’t practice everyday, so he designed goals and plans that I can work with.

Jeff is great at breaking things down and identifying problems, fixing them, and explaining why. His technique of positive reinforcement, tying in examples of subjects or sports I’m more familiar with to help with practice, and goal-setting, has really made the process fun. After each lesson, I’m provided with areas of focus for the upcoming practices. At the next lesson, we review those areas of concentration, make adjustments, and add new ones. I’ve been amazed with my progression so far.

It’s without hesitation I recommend Jeff as a guitar teacher. His teaching methods and plans have really worked well for me, and I’m sure you’ll be happy with your progress as I am!
